The team went into the fixture worried about the heat, they need not have worried as the home team were quickly put under pressure from the kick off and the Select were soon one up which was quickly followed by a second goal. The USA pulled one back and continued to press and just before half time Will (The Cat) Fae Swindon made a great save after slipping as the ball came in to tip it over the bar, however in the process he injured himself and had to leave the FOP. The team quickly recovered to score a third first half goal. HT 3 – 1.

In the second half we were worried the TA would wilt in the heat and the Americans pulled another back to make it 3 – 2 with 20 minutes to go. The TA restored their cushion to make it 4 – 2 when Mark Sim instead of converting his hat trick squared for a tap in by Douglas Rae. After this set back the USA team wilted in the heat with the TA adding 3 more to end the game 7 – 2 in the selects favour. All in all a great morning out with us being made very welcome by our hosts and invites to their tailgate party later.
